Congratulations to our Patriot’s Pen District Winners. Our first-place student will continue on to the State Semi-Final round! These outstanding students demonstrated thoughtfulness, creativity, and a strong understanding of patriotism through their essays.

The VFW Patriot’s Pen Contest, aimed at middle school students in grades 6–8, encourages young writers to explore American values, civic responsibility, and what patriotism means to them.

  • Eligibility: Grades 6–8
  • Essay Length: 300–400 words
  • Theme: "How Are You Showing Patriotism and Support for Our Country?”
  • National Grand Prize: $5,000

Essays must be submitted with a completed entry form to a participating VFW Post.
